It was sad to recently hear the news of the passing of a legend and one of my favorite artist, James Reynolds, in February of this year. He was truly a Fine Artist and one of the great American and Western Artist of our time whose work is timeless and will be remembered and appreciated even more in musuems for years to come. He survived the art world during a time when representational art was not appreciated and almost forgotten. I never got to meet him, but fortunately I got to see his recent and last show at Claggett-Rey gallery in Vail, CO late last year. He was more well know in the past for his western cowboy paintings, but in his later years he painted a lot more landscapes which I thought were incredible and have been one of my biggest inspirations as a landscape painter.
